Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains how Bite Sized Apps ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use Stack Check (the "App").
Summary
- There is no Stack Check account, advertising, or cross-app tracking.
- Your saved stack, servings, nutrient entries, and notes are stored locally on your device.
- Product searches and imports make user-requested network calls to third-party data providers or the website you choose.
- Optional purchases are processed by Apple or Google and RevenueCat.
- You can delete local App data by uninstalling the App.
Information stored on your device
The App stores the products, serving information, nutrient amounts, notes, settings, and lookup cache you choose to save. This information is stored in private App storage on your device. We do not operate a Stack Check account system or a server that receives your saved stack.
Permissions
The App requests the following permission solely to provide its core features:
- Camera: to scan a supplement's barcode so the App can look up its label. Camera frames are processed on-device for barcode detection and are not stored or transmitted.
Product lookups and website imports
When you scan a barcode or search by product or brand, the App sends the barcode or search text to one or more of the following providers to retrieve publicly available product-label data:
- NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD)
- Open Food Facts / Open Products Facts
- USDA FoodData Central
When you use Import from website, your device requests the specific website URL you provide. The receiving provider or website can receive the normal technical information associated with an internet request, such as your IP address, request time, and device or browser metadata, under its own privacy practices.
The App does not intentionally include your name, saved stack, notes, or other App content in these requests. Successful barcode lookups may be cached on your device for up to 30 days so a repeat scan does not require another lookup. Imported data is shown for your review and can be edited before it is saved.
Purchases and RevenueCat
Stack Check Plus is an optional one-time in-app purchase. Apple App Store or Google Play processes payment. We use RevenueCat to present the purchase screen, confirm entitlement status, and restore purchases. RevenueCat may process an anonymous App User ID, purchase history, product and entitlement information, App and device information, storefront, locale, and currency. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Apple, Google, and RevenueCat process this information under their own privacy policies and may retain transaction records as required for billing, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, and legal compliance.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The App does not include advertising SDKs, third-party behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell your saved stack data. RevenueCat processes purchase-related data as described above; product-data providers and websites receive requests only when you use the related lookup or import feature.
Exporting and sharing
If you choose Save stack, the App creates a file on your device and opens the system share sheet. The App does not upload that file to us. You choose the person, app, or service that receives it, and that recipient's privacy practices apply after you share it.
Security
The App uses platform-provided private storage and HTTPS for network requests. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Anyone who can access your unlocked or compromised device may be able to access locally stored App data.
Retention and deletion
Your saved stack remains on your device until you edit or delete products or uninstall the App. The on-device lookup cache expires after 30 days. Uninstalling the App removes its local data, subject to your device's backup and restoration behavior.
Purchase records are controlled by the applicable storefront and RevenueCat and may be retained under their policies or legal obligations. To ask us about purchase-related privacy requests, email support@bite-sized-apps.com. We may need information that identifies the relevant anonymous purchase record, and some storefront records cannot be deleted by us.
Health information and intended use
The supplement and nutrient information you enter can be health-related. It remains in local App storage unless you choose a network lookup, import, or export as described in this policy. The App does not access or write data to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Stack Check performs educational nutrient-label calculations using public reference values. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or monitor a disease and does not determine whether a product or amount is safe for you. The App is intended for adults age 19 and older and is not designed for children, teens, pregnancy, or lactation.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Do not use product lookup or website import if you do not want those providers to receive a request.
- Deny camera access and enter barcode or label information manually.
- Choose whether to export or share your stack.
- Delete local App data by deleting individual products or uninstalling the App.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last Updated" date when changes occur.
